Into the Badlands - WWX Slow Grow League

Postby Gareth » Tue Apr 25, 2017 12:11 pm

Based on the Into the Badlands beta document here but I've modified it slightly.
Thoughts please? Its not meant to be complicated just a simple aproach to learn the game.
I think its about right i.e. slow enough that if you miss a week you can catch up but quick enough for people not to lose interest.

HOW DOES IT WORK?
  • Players start with a Posse box for their chosen faction.
  • Each stage of the League the player gets to add $100 to their Posse.
  • Players may play as many games as they like, however they may only play the same player once per week.
  • Winning, drawing and losing a game earns Badland Points. The player with the most Badland Points at the end of the League wins.
  • To encourage hobby activity a fully painted force earns extra Badland Points at each stage of the League.

POINTS SCORING AND WINNING THE LEAGUE
Players earn Badland points by playing games and painting models. At the end of each week total up the player's Badland Points to see who is Boss of the Badlands!
Points are earned and lost by -
  • Killing an enemy Boss in a game (1pt)
  • Wiping out an enemy Posse in a game (1pt)
  • Winning a game (1pt)
  • Having all Posse models based and painted that week (1pt)
  • Supplying a painted piece of terrain (1+pt) – max 8pts (1pt per week)

Not sure what days I'll be able to make with work but count me in. Rules aren't too different from what I've seen for other systems.

Count me in for this, I'll try and get $500 worth of posse painted by Sunday.

Waiting on my 2 player starter but happy to play whenever I'm there.

Noticed that the 2 player lawmen set has an underboss but no sidekick. As sidekicks can be used from wk 1 I ordered a lawbot to round out any low point games. Think this is right??

Hmm that's weird. The 2 player starter is different to the starter box.

All the starters are a boss, a sidekick and 10 hired hands but the 2 player sets are a boss an underboss and 10 hired hands.
The Outlaw half is the same too. 2 player set has Frank instead of Cole.

Going to start this a week Sunday as next Sunday is the boardgame day.
We'll skip the tournament weeks as well so the Schedule will be as follows

Week 1 14th May
Week 2 21st May
Week 3 28th May
June tournament - DZC
Week 4 11th June
Week 5 18th June
Week 6 25th June
July Tournament - Infinity
Week 7 9th July
Week 8 16th July

Which leads us nicely to an August WWX tournament I think.

Spoke to Rob earlier and Firestorm and they have some stock left. It should be on the sale section of the site if people are interested.

Just had a look not a lot there

Enlightened Thomas Edison
Enlightened Iron Horse 3-Pack
Enlightened Army Starter Box
Lawmen Army Starter Box
Union Hired Hands - Armored Guards
Outlaw Hired Hands - Raiders
Outlaws Army Starter Box

Hmm Firestorm "discounted" prices look to be more than the RRP lol so check before anyone buys,
Only one worthwhile is the enlightened horses because you get 3.

May be worth haggling worth Rob :)
